About Outback Cycling

Outback Cycling is the sole licensed operator for Uluru Bike Hire, located on the Uluru Base Loop just off Lasseter Highway in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Alongside bike hire Uluru travellers can also book Uluru tours - guided rides around Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park with local commentary on the landscape and Aṉangu culture. Our fleet of 120+ bikes, including tag-a-longs, toddler seats, and a tricycle, caters to solo riders, couples, and families. We operate seasonally from March to mid-December, based in Yulara, Northern Territory.

Founded in 2013, Outback Cycling Uluru won New Tourism Development at the 2014 NT Brolga Awards and the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award in 2025 and 2026. We hold Quality and Sustainable Tourism Accreditation, and have been featured on Channel 9's Today show in 2024, 2025, and 2026. We also partner with Australian Traveller and the Bikes Mwerre community cycling program.

Meet the Team

Outback Cycling is owned by two partner duos, Sam & Julin, and Nick & Allison. Sam & Nick are the cycling dream team of Central Australia! These good mates and avid riders are stoked to share their passion for the region with you. With backgrounds as diverse as the Outback landscape, they've got one thing down pat: people power!

Nick and Allison are hands on in the business, from marketing and stakeholder relations to contracts and financial management, they're across every part of running Outback Cycling, backed on the ground in Yulara by a manager and a team of up to 8 across the operating season. They're all about delivering top-notch experiences, and they're always up for a chat, keen to hear your feedback, and excited to show you the best of cycling in their backyard.
