Our mobile hire point operates within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. You will find us at the Cultural Centre.

f you have your own vehicle, we are located approximately 22km (or a 20-30 minute drive) from the centre of Yulara.
If you do not have your own car or hire car, you can book our Uluru Bike Hire Including Transfers package. Our Outback Cycling bus will pick you up from the resort, take you to our bikes located at the Cultural Centre, then return you back to your accomodation.

Bookings are highly recommended, particularly if there is a time that best suits you and your trip itinerary. School holidays and Winter (April - October) is our busiest time of year.

You can book up 5pm the day before you wish to book a bike ride at Uluru. If you want to book inside that window, you will have to call us directly.

No it doesn’t – you must purchase your National Park Entry Pass online here

Yes, there is parking available in the Cultural Centre, even for trailers and campervans

With our toddler seats, tag-a-longs and children’s bike, we can accommodate anyone from 1 year and older!

The hire period is for 3 hours – this allows plenty of time to ride the 15km around Uluru with plenty of time to stop and explore.

No. Our bicycles do not have baskets attached.

No. We do not distribute bike locks at our Uluru location. There are bike racks available for use if you would like to walk into any of the waterholes.

No you do not. We hold your details in line with our cancellation/damage policy should there be any issues with the return of the equipment or bike.

Please get on the Outback Cycling bus. The bus is clearly marked with the Outback Cycling logo and the bus driver will call out names from their manifest.

Our Bus will pick up and drop off from 5 locations within Ayers Rock Resort: Desert Gardens Hotel, Sails in the Desert Resort and Ayers Rock Campground (bus stop on the ring road). Your hotel reception will be able to point you in the right direction of the bus stop. You will be looking to get on the Outback Cycling Bus.

If you are staying at The Lost Camel or Emu Run Apartments, your Outback Cycling Bus pick up will be from Sails in the Desert or Desert Gardens.

At our discretion, Outback Cycling has the right to refuse participation of late arrivals, however in most instances, an uninformed late arrival will simply result in the equivalent time forfeited from the hire period. If telephone contact is made before the booking time, it is likely that an alternative time can be secured with no penalty.

Ensure you wear clothing appropriate to cycling – we recommend comfortable, unrestrictive clothing, and closed in runners/walking shoes.

Plenty of water, sunscreen, sunglasses a day backpack and your camera.

In the event of weather conditions that do not allow Outback Cycling to hire bikes for a certain period of time, a full refund will be provided (less credit card charges) if booked for within the period of closure

If the customer advises cancellation of their booking by telephone with 48hrs or more notice, an alternative time or 75% refund will be provided.
If the customer advises cancellation of their booking within 48 hours, or does not show at all, then any payment made is forfeited
If the customer and/or agent advises cancellation of their booking by telephone or email within 14 days of the commencement of the tour due to a COVID related border restrictions declared in that 14 day period, a credit voucher valid for 1 year will be issued or the above cancellation policy applies.

Cycling the rock is a great activity for the whole family!
The customer accepts sole responsibility for their health and safety at all times. If medications (such as puffers, insulin, epi pens etc) are required, ensure you have them with you. We do not recommend you ride when pregnant – if you choose to do so, it is at your own risk.

Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Yes, you can book for private groups of up to 30 bikes in a singular session – these need to be booked and paid for 7 days prior, and additional charges may apply.

Each hire period is 3 hours, which is plenty of time to explore Uluru and its surrounds. There are 3 hire periods available each day, and you may be able to book a second hire period (availability depending, and cost applicable)

No, we do not have electric bikes for rental at Uluru.

Unfortunately, no you cannot. It isn’t safe to do so. We do not hire bikes to ride anywhere in the National Park outside of the 15km path around the rock (Liru Path and Base Walk Path).

It depends on your fitness and available time! It can be done very quickly, or nice and leisurely. We recommend taking your time to ensure you get the full experience. We allow 3 hours, but most people finish in 2 -2.5 hours.

The 15km cycle around the rock is easily achieved in under three hours. You do not need to be an experienced cyclist or fitness fanatic to enjoy the experience. The ride is on a packed earth path and easily navigated.

The use of helmets is a legal requirement. Customers must wear a helmet on their head at all times when riding the bicycle.

Customers assume liability for all articles supplied to them for the duration of the tour and/or rental period.
Unless prior arrangement has been made with Outback Cycling, equipment that is not returned by the end of the rental period will be deemed to be on hire at the existing rate and the customer will be charged accordingly.
Outback Cycling reserve the right to charge you an amount between $400-2000 (in accordance with the value of the bicycle or accessory) should equipment be returned in an unreasonably damaged condition, or not at all.
